2019 Audi SQ5 Concept Specs Review
2019 Audi SQ5. The new debut is expected in mid-2017 in the United States, as well as in Europe. Just like before, the car will be available in two different configurations depending on the market. The European model will be available with two engines while the US model will feature only a huge one.Audi Q8 was not the only crossover presented by the German automaker at the Detroit Motor Show this year. Right next to it came 2019 Audi SQ5, high-performance medium-sized crossover for the brand.
This new version penetrates the previous generation charger in favor of a 3.0-liter V6 turbo. Powertrain power is similar to that used in the newer S4 and S5. The car is based on the same Evo MLB platform found under Q7. This means that it also uses better materials such as aluminum and vehicles that should allow them to drop the weight by a large amount. Less weight means better driving characteristics, better fuel efficiency as well as more comfortable riding. So far all these seem to be true about the new Q5 and they all must also be true for the 2019 Audi SQ5.
Besides the turbo engine is an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive standard. Power delivery and handling can be enhanced with Quattro differential sports that can mix left and right power to help turn corners. Audi says the torque system can send almost all the rear energy to a single wheel when necessary. Differential are available as part of the Sport S package, which comes with other upgrades including air suspension. The suspension gives the higher crossover ride less by default.
Both the height and the beams can be adjusted and offers a “off-road” position that excites the vehicle to the maximum clearance of the ground. Inside, the 2019 Audi SQ5 comes with a sporting interior of its Q5 counterpart. Comes with pre-requisites such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel and more enhanced seats. Audi also offers the Bang & Olufsen sound system, the Apple Car Play standard and Android Auto. The cabin experience can be further enhanced with the LED dashboard for Audi’s virtual driving circuit, as well as driving that provides a variable steering rack and adaptive speed control system that can handle traffic from 0 to 40 miles per hour.
As we mentioned, the 2019 Audi SQ5 will be available with two different engines. Both the US and the EU are expected to get a 3-liter double-turbo V6 from the S4. This uses a V-hot design that is installed between the twin-cylinder turbines. This engine makes the S4 impressive 354 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque which should be moved to SQ5 unchanged. The European model is also expected to get a 3-liter dual-turbo diesel V6.
This will save up to 313 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque which is a slight improvement over its predecessor. But these will reach a maximum speed limit of 155 miles per hour and both will reach 62 miles per hour in about 5 seconds. The only transmission of the options will be actually the eight-speed ZV automatically known. Also, like with all other X cars, the 2019 Audi SQ5 comes standard with the Audi Quattro all-wheel drive system.
The incoming 2019 Audi SQ5 price is still unknown but is likely to hover around $55,000 with the European model being a bit more expensive than that. This is mostly because Audi still has some problems with the diesel engines that made it, and Fu, lose a lot of money.
